Maja Włoszczowska wins the first race of the season!
KROSS Racing Team has began its 2017 season with a double podium at the opening race in Milan, Italy. Maja Włoszczowska claimed victory last weekend with a 18 second lead ahead of Swiss athlete Alessandra Keller and new teammate Jolanda Neff. In the Mens Elite, the Polish Champion Bartek Wawak finished in fifth position, after a close race for the podium.
After a short delay, Allesandra Keller lead from the start, leaving the two KROSS Racing Team riders trailing close behind. Packed together with a strong pace, in the fifth of six laps, Maja Włoszczowska pushed ahead and overtook the Swiss athlete, ultimately taking the first win of the season. New KROSS Racing Team athlete, Jolanda Neff fought hard to keep Kathrin Stirnemann behind and off the podium– her efforts were successful. Jolanda Neff is happy with a podium finish at the first race on her new KROSS Level B+.
In the Mens Elite, KROSS Racing Team was represented by Bartek Wawak. The Polish National Champion began the race up front and from the third round, began to advance. Wawak crossed the line in fifth place, just 10 seconds shy of a podium result.
Fellow KROSS Racing Team athlete, Fabian Giger raced in his national colors last weekend at the Istrian Spring Trophy. Giger took a well deserved third place in the general classification.
