Maja Włoszczowska from KRT took the 6th place in the recent round of the Mountain Bike World Cup in Andorra. The other Kross representative Jolanda Neff took the 12th place, which allowed the Polish team to win in the women's team classification.
After a rainy night, the Sunday morning welcomed the world’s best mountain bike riders with beautiful, sunny weather. Jolanda Neff started off very well, but in the middle of the first round, the Ukrainian Jana Belomoina broke away and kept the lead until the finish line. Maja Włoszczowska was in no rush. The Pole was passing by the rivals consequently in the successive rounds and finished the race on the high 6th position. Her younger teammate Jolanda Neff crossed the finish-line as the twelfth.
During the men's race, Nino Schurter proofed to be a class of his own. The Swiss was leading the race from the start to the finish and none of the rivals could have threatened his victory. The representatives of the Kross Racing Team improved their position slightly after the start and ended up in the middle of the third decade. Unfortunately, in the middle of the race Fabian Giger began to lose steam and fell in the rankings. Bartłomiej Wawak had a puncture in the middle of the race and lost 40 positions. Giger finished his race on the 43rd place and Wawak became 58th of the World Cup in Andorra.
Next week the KRT is returning to the World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
