Last weekend, on the 5th October, Joey Lathouwers who is member of the Hard'n Bikers KROSS Team participated to the Bart Brentjens Challenge in Eijsden where he won the 55km race with a strong advance on his competitors. This is a first success for Joey and KROSS in The Netherlands.
Joey recounts the race: "At the last minute I decided to go and race. The weather is not great with rain all day and the track was very muddy. I feel good and strong from the start immediately taking the lead but allowing the others to come back on me. At their first attack I answer to keep the lead. Forcing a bit of a false flat fields I find myself alone again and I decided to continue only because I felt the strongest in the rain and the mud. I take a good lead over the chasers. My derailleur full of mud doesn't work properly and I am forced to continue on a great speed-shift which makes my legs hurt but knowing that I am alone in the lead I don't mind at all. During this nice, hard race with so much mud I got a lot of fun and I finished the season in style with victory".
Joey Lathouwers and Hard'n Bikers are sponsored by 2M Bikes - official KROSS distributor in de Benelux.
