One of the biggest MTB marathons in Hungary – Duna Marathon took place last Sunday. Over 1000 riders participated in this 15th edition of the race, Eszter Dósa and Blazsó Márton were among them being Hungarian riders sponsored by KROSS.
The race has taken place under very unpleasant, sizzling hot weather, that is why a large amount of liquids and the skill of right distribution of strength was the key to a success, especially on long distance.
Among men a fierce competiton was between two riders from Areus Waberer Cube Team and Márton Blazsó from Kross Nelson BAU Team. Kross Team rider was in the second place from the beginning of the race trying to catch up András Szatmáry. Finally Marton was second on the finish line losing only 8 seconds from the first position.
Among women there was only one favourite. Eszter Dósa is a current Hungary Champion, riding on KROSS Level R+. Despite tiredness from preparation for recent Europe Championships and World Cup starts, she could not omit the most important marathon in the country. Eszter won being 2 minutes faster than other riders. She has proved that she is still the best rider in Hungary. Foto: bikemag.hu
